The Request:
London United Busways is one of the capital's leading bus operators with a fleet of over 650 buses on 60 routes within Central and South West London. Employing over 2,000 people of whom 1,600 are drivers, London United carry approximately 100 million people each year.

Keeping London moving requires a large number of people and a strong infrastructure, and London United has created a robust and effective process of recruitment to support this need. Operating amongst numerous competitors, the battle for attracting, hiring and keeping the right staff is an ongoing task. Lansdowne has created innovative advertising campaigns to support this need, for over 5 years.

The Response:
Lansdowne has worked with London United to analyse and understand their target recruitment markets, to utilise a broad range of established and emerging media formats to reach their audience, and to design some of the most creative transport recruitment advertising in the UK.

Changing preconceptions about who can be a bus driver, what is involved and the skills that are needed, is an ongoing challenge that London United presented to Lansdowne and we have approached with a series of highly creative advertising and mail campaigns. The development of brave and direct copywriting has supported visual creations that when combined have led to London United being one of London's employers of choice in the transport industry.

The total result is an ongoing story of partnership and success. The long-standing and close nature of our working relationship has led to Lansdowne being able to develop a highly in-depth understanding of the recruitment needs and ambitions of one of London's most successful bus operators, in order to meet their challenges head on.
